This is one man’s travelogue, complemented with photographs and pieces across a broad range of topics. The focus will be on travel but I also plan to write about science, technology, the arts, philosophy, history, religion, cuisine, and anything else I deem worth sharing.
Finis Terrae is Latin for “end of the Earth” or “end of the world.” The title of this weblog, A Finis Terrae, is intended to connote travel to far corners of the Earth. I will document and comment on selected personal travel experiences and related stories.
My Recommendations page features reviews and recommendations for further reading and browsing including the blogs and websites of family, friends, and colleagues. I hope you will visit and enjoy the work of these talented, creative people.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: I have been drafting this weblog for more than a year now due mostly to reviewing, editing, and deciding which of thousands of digital photographs to include or exclude. Each new voyage has added to the workload and delay. Earlier this year, I decided to go ahead and publish it in draft form. I will continue to edit and finish incomplete and draft posts.
